How to Manage your Online Reputation

These days when you're looking for a new job, employers won't just be looking at your resume and cover letter. They will probably also Google your name to see how your image (or personal brand) appears online.

It's your task to make sure that what others discover about you online is positive. You could ask yourself some of the following questions:

  • Does your name appear high up in a Google search, or is it your Emmy-award-winning alter ego?
  • Is your LinkedIn profile showing a good, recent photo of you?
  • Should you tidy up your Facebook public profile and keep some of your life private?
  • Is now the time to finally respond to that awkward comment from a stranger on your blog?

Our Checklist for Managing Your Online Reputation takes you through three key stages to help you identify, repair and maintain a clean reputation online.
