The Professional Diploma was an ideal first qualification that could be completed quickly. Throughout my four months of study, I regularly emailed my E-learning Manager, used the DMI webinars to gain valuable industry knowledge, and communicated with fellow students easily via our class forum.

Tell us a bit about your story before the Digital Marketing Institute.

I worked in a variety of B2B industries in sales and marketing management roles at the beginning of my career. After 15 years working in International Marketing Communications, I decided to have a career break. My career plan altered after being widowed, and I spent a decade working in education while raising two daughters. I wanted to return to my original career, so I looked for a qualification that would springboard and upskill me for the demands and challenges of working in digital marketing in 2017.

What influenced your decision to study in the Digital Field?

My previous career experiences had been across all aspects of traditional marketing. I felt it was essential to equip myself with the knowledge and skills to be able to strategically plan and implement marketing campaigns across the full breadth of the digital marketplace. I knew I needed to start with a secure broad understanding of the industry and looked for a first level qualification that would provide accurate, relevant, and technical knowledge.

Why did you choose to study your course in the Digital Marketing Institute?

I considered several online teaching providers and chose the DMI because of its comprehensive support package and program of study that covered all aspects of digital marketing.

Since completing the course in the Digital Marketing Institute, how has your career progressed?

Immediately after gaining my Professional Diploma, I was fortunate enough to be offered employment with Croud as a Digital Marketing Executive within its International PPC team.

Is there any advice you would give to new or future students at the Digital Marketing Institute?

Be disciplined, and treat this course as you would a work assignment. Allocate set hours in your week to work on the training material, then stick to your schedule! I found setting myself goals to complete each section of the course by a certain date was an effective way of ensuring I maintained a steady pace of learning and achieved my personal objective to be qualified within four months. The DMI tutors are very approachable and will assist you at any time in the program, and the regular webinars give you valuable industry and market knowledge.

In one word, how would you describe your time in the Digital Marketing Institute?
