I discovered the internationally recognized reputation of the Institute as well as the superbly structured online courses.

Tell us a bit about your experience before the Digital Marketing Institute

I moved to France almost 10 years ago as part of my undergraduate studies (European Business & French in DCU). I stayed on in Paris and did a Masters in Marketing and Communication in 2010. Since then, I have worked in several large companies and held both internal and external communications roles in Paris. In my last position, I worked as an Internal Communications Manager in a global cement company.

What influenced your decision to study in the digital field?

I decided to leave my last role at the beginning of 2016 as part of a voluntary redundancy program. It was an opportunity for me to upskill and explore in more detail the digital field. I have touched on the digital area over the past few years but felt that I lacked some core knowledge and experience in topics such as SEO, SEA and email marketing.

Why did you choose to study the Professional Diploma with the Digital Marketing Institute?

I first came across the Digital Marketing Institute via a week long course they were offering in Paris. Upon further investigation, I discovered the internationally recognized reputation of the Institute as well as the superbly structured online courses.

Since completing the course in the Digital Marketing Institute, how has your Career progressed?

I am currently interviewing for new roles and I am delighted to say that the completion of the Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing is definitely an area that attracts the attention of recruiters. Even if I am not looking for a 100% digital role, recruiters and employers are reassured to see that I am staying up to date with the fast changing digital world.

Is there any advice you would give to new students at the Digital Marketing Institute?

I would definitely recommend setting out an agenda for yourself from the beginning of the course. As with all independent learning courses, it requires structure and dedication to complete. Try to have a website/ business project that you can use to test all the areas that you will learn during the course.

In one word, how would you describe your time in the Digital Marketing Institute?

Stimulating.
