Tell us a bit about your experience before the Digital Marketing Institute 

Before attending the Digital Marketing Institute, I was primarily involved in B2B Sales for over 15 years, and have seen its ever changing evolution. My experience started in Telecoms, then I moved into Technology, and for the last few years I’ve been working in the global marketing & localization industry with Lionbridge International, a NASDAQ company. We are one of the main European centers of excellence for our U.S company, providing a full range of language service solutions for top global brands. I have experienced first hand the necessity for Enterprise sales to work closely with marketing departments to provide the best possible customer experience and to drive new business.

What influenced your decision to study digital? 

In my role, creating new business relationships with global brands based on how we can deliver their content to a global audience, it became increasingly more important to learn and upskill in key areas to better understand our clients’ requirements. It also was a personal goal of mine to learn about how the digital world worked.

Why did you choose to study the Professional Diploma with the Digital Marketing Institute? 

A number of colleagues and friends who had taken the course recommended it and Lionbridge encouraged me as part of my career growth to take the Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing.

Since completing the course in the Digital Marketing Institute, how has your Career progressed? 

Since completing the course at the end of last year I now work even more closely with our marketing teams in the US and UK on projects to ensure we deliver the right messaging to our clients and streamline the new business process. I have become a bridge between our marketing and sales teams here in Europe and am actively involved in projects and marketing campaigns that contribute to the success of Lionbridge in Europe.

Is there any advice you would give to new students at the Digital Marketing Institute? 

Yes, I would advise those doing the online courses to pace yourself, start early and spend time doing the practical questions as it gives a real understanding of the course components. If possible, network with other course participants.Also I would suggest spending a significant amount of time on Google Analytics, it’s a goldmine!

In one word, how would you describe your time in the Digital Marketing Institute? 

Enlightening!
